The Western Massachusetts Section of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is a group of business professionals dedicated to the advancement of quality. Our members hold a variety of positions, from inspectors to corporate heads, and represent all aspects of area business including manufacturing, service, government, and academia.

For over 40 years the Western Massachusetts Section has provided Greater Springfield area business with a higher awareness of the need for Quality. Our goal is to promote and improve quality practices within the community. To accomplish this, we provide the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues and offer quality related educational courses and material designed to address the concerns of our members.

Section Management

Participation in any capacity on the Section's Executive Board opens new vistas to any willing and resourceful member. The friendly environment of peers offers an opportunity without equal. Whether honing personal leadership skills, improving management competence, or seeking to develop confidence dealing with people, one rarely finds a more accommodating laboratory. Section Meetings

Perodic section meetings are held the third Thursday of the month. A typical evening's program consists of a social/networking period starting at 5:30pm, the main program at 6:00 and dinner at around 7:00. This web site has current meeting information.

Section Newsletter

The section publishes a periodic newsletter. It provides news of general interest to members and information on Section activities. A copy is sent to each Section member.

Education

The Section sponsors courses and seminars for those interested in formal study in many disciplines associated with the quality profession. All are intended to help members learn and grow in their chosen work. This effort extends to offering refresher courses for profession.
